Poultry heating lamps are very important in poultry farming:
Function
– Maintaining a suitable temperature: Newly hatched chicks, ducklings and other young birds have poor ability to regulate their own body temperature and need a warm environment from the outside. Poultry heating lamps can provide stable heat to keep the temperature of the brooding room in the suitable range required for the growth of young birds. For example, the temperature required by chicks is around 30-35℃, and heating lamps can help maintain this temperature range.
– Improving survival rate: A suitable temperature environment helps reduce diseases and deaths caused by cold in young birds and improve the survival rate of poultry. In cold weather or when the temperature difference between day and night is large, heating lamps can prevent young birds from crowding together for warmth and causing casualties.
Type
– Infrared heating lamp:
– Principle: Heat is transmitted by emitting infrared rays, which can be absorbed by the feathers and skin of poultry, just like basking in the sun, making the poultry feel warm from the inside out.
– Advantages: The heating is relatively uniform and can provide a large area of warm area; it can simulate the infrared rays in natural sunlight, which may have a certain promoting effect on the growth and development of poultry.
Precautions for use
– Hanging height: The hanging height of the heating lamp should be appropriate. If it is too high, the poultry may not receive enough heat; if it is too low, it is easy to scald the poultry or cause a fire. Generally speaking, it is more appropriate to hang it 30-50 cm from the ground or the bottom of the brooding cage, and it should be adjusted in time according to the growth stage of the poultry and the power of the heating lamp.
– Temperature monitoring: Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature of the brooding environment to ensure that the temperature is in the appropriate growth range for poultry. Because poultry has different temperature requirements at different growth stages, as poultry grows, the ambient temperature needs to be gradually lowered.
– Prevent scalding: Poultry may come into contact with the heating lamp during activities, so make sure that the protective device of the heating lamp is intact to prevent poultry from directly contacting the high-temperature bulb or heating element and being scalded.
– Safe use of electricity: Make sure that the wires of the heating lamp are intact and the socket is well grounded. In a humid environment, such as a duck house, pay more attention to electrical safety to prevent leakage accidents.
